Proper care for oily dry and sensitive skin

By Marco Wright

It's a fact that there are many approaches to skin care for all skin types that really do work well. Those who end up mismatching their skin type and product will notice in a hurry that something isn't right. Proper hydration can be affected by the products you choose for your skin type, make sure they are well matched and clearly labeled. Watch that you are drinking enough fluids to properly hydrate your skin.

If you suffer from extraordinarily oily skin and can't seem to curb it no matter what you do, a dermatologist's advice might be needed. You will need to look at your skin care habits and your diet. Try not to strip your face completely of oil when you wash it. Do you use bar soap? If you do then you should stop right now because it could be causing the problem. It is also possible that you will need to be prescribed some medication that works to help reduce the oil that is produced in your skin (wherever the medication is applied). It's easy to aggravate your oil glands because they are sensitive and react to all sorts of external influences.

A good way to avoid this condition is to use lukewarm or tepid water to wash your face in the morning.

Dry skin typically means sensitive skin too. You will want to take these extra precautions with dry skin to avoid becoming too dry. During the winter you may need to be extra vigilant and use a good moisturizer while avoiding commercial products full of harmful chemicals. Petroleum and mineral oil found in commercial products are harmful to your face and should be replaced by natural alternatives.

Proper skin care applies to all skin types because of the differences as well as what affects all skin regardless of differences. If you are not sure what your skin type is, then you can enlist the help of a qualified beautician to give you expert advice. The beautician can help you put together a good skin care routine but look out for marketing schemes and up-sells that you do not need. When you have everything figured out, you might need to try a few different products to figure out what works best.
